How To Get More Points (E.g Level 97)

Level 97 in Candy Crush Saga is a tricky one…

You’ll need to deal with the timebombs as well as get 100,000 points in 25 moves.

Here’s a few tips for winning that level:

1) Refresh the board until you get a good setup for wrapped candies.

2) Wrapped candies give the most points. Try to combo wrapped candies with other special candies. Wrapped + Wrapped gives the most points.

3) If wrapped candies aren’t available, your next best bet is to clear the time bombs. They give about¬†3000 points each explosion.

4) Don’t forget the timer on the time bombs!

Be patient and don’t give up!

How To Deal With Licorice In Candy Crush (Level 80 Onwards)

From level 80 onwards you’ll have to deal with these buggers…

These black sweets can “fall” like normal sweets and is destroyed when a match is made (by you, or as a consequence of one of your moves) next to it from any side.

They also can be moved. You can also swap them (naturally it has to be with a sweet, which then makes a valid move).

However it differs from normal sweets in two regards:

1) It can’t make groups of three (or more, etc) – so it’s like an unmatchable sweet. What this means is you can’t make three Liquorice in a row since it isn’t a valid combo.

2) It stops the effects of special candies such as the striped candy or wrapped candy. Blast and it will hit the first liquorice it meets and then stop.

3)Sweets (or other liquorice) beyond the first will stay as they are … this makes it quite hard to clear large numbers of licorice and restricts some of your combos.

There are 2 ways to get rid of these obstacles. Try and playing near it so it gets removed.

Combine 2 Rainbow candies (5 in a row) and it will clear all of the licorice. Although getting two of these, AND next to each other, (as you can’t move them!), is a real challenge!

Hope this helps!

Candy Crush Trivia

Here are some funny trivia nuggets about Candy Crush Saga:

  • Many people consider jelly levels the hardest level type.
  • The 100th jelly level was level 235.
  • Level 65 is the most hated level of all time.
  • Timed levels are the only levels where you aren’t pressured by the amount of moves you have left.
  • If you run out of possible switches on timed levels, you get a 5 second penalty. If you have less than 5 seconds left when you run out of moves, you automatically lose a life.
  • There is only one paid, complete Candy Crush guide in the market – Candy Crush Secrets
  • Levels 100 and 300 are both jelly. Level 200 is ingredients.
  • The most hated level type is the timed level. As many people dislike timed levels, there are only 2 levels per episode in earlier episodes and from episode 16 onwards, only 1.
  • The episode with the least jelly levels is Wafer Wharf (episode 10) with only 2. The most is Easter Bunny Hills (episode 6) with 9.

Candy Crush Tip: 3 Simple Ways To Save Lives

Stop wasting lives! Here are 3 simple Candy Crush Tips to help you save lives.

1) Take your time

Sounds obvious but you know what’s even more obvious? The fact that most stages are not timed! This isn’t fast paced bejeweled where you try to clear everything as fast as possible. It’s more like a puzzle where you try and win in a set amount of moves. So take it slow, map out your game plan and enjoy the game :)

2)  Refresh the board

If you are on a mobile or tablet device, you can actually exit the board if you haven’t made a move and rejoin the game and you will have a totally different map :) Keep doing until you have a good selection of candies!

3) Strategize

Observe the layout before you make your move. Some maps require you to blast through the jellies fast while some require you to clear chocolates and obstacles first. You might have to spend a life or two to test a particular strategy (e.g rushing) but once you know what doesn’t work, try a radically different way, which would most likely be the winner!

Hope this helps!

What Makes Candy Crush So Crazy Viral?

Just want to share this cool article I found on the net, explaining why Candy Crush can be so famous among the sea of other games out there.

As much as we love Candy Crush Saga, there’s little about this puzzle game that we’d call original. Its basic foundation of matching three or more similarly colored objects has been kicked around the gaming industry for years; case in point, Bejeweled, perhaps the biggest match-three game of them all. And yet, Candy Crush was downloaded over 10 million times in December 2012 across mobile devices alone, and one in seven people living in Hong Kong play it on a daily basis. That said, we fired up this addictive title to see what makes it so appealing, besides the fact that it’s free.

Social Interaction

There’s a good chance a Facebook friend sent a request your way for Candy Crush Saga, most likely to receive free lives. Annoying to some, yes, but a necessity for the Candy Crush faithful, but this goes beyond social networking. The fact that you can see which of your buddies has the highest score for each level (across Facebook and mobile devices) adds some much-needed personality to the experience while at the same time fueling one’s competitive fire.

For the most part, match-three games play almost exactly the same. We’ll stop short of calling Candy Crush revolutionary, but deserves credit for spicing up the levels. One puzzle may ask you to remove all the jelly from the board, while another challenges you to get various ingredients from the top of the screen to the bottom. This keeps the experience fresh while delivering something for gamers with different tastes and skill types.

Hunger Games

Let’s face it, the various treats in this game look scrumptious. Sure, Bejeweled contains precious stones, but we’re suckers for candy. Besides, the level select (Candy Town) reminds us of the old board game Candy Land. There’s the recipe for success: make us hungry and tug on our heartstrings.

No Time Limit

You’re free to take as much time as you like solving Candy Crush puzzles, and this makes the game appealing to casual players that can do without the stress of a constantly ticking clock. At least this way, you can relax on the couch, in the car or waiting in line swiping at your leisure.

Each Puzzle Is Unique

It may take upwards of a week or more to solve a particularly tricky puzzle, and this works in Candy Crush Saga’s favor. There’s a strategy involved that goes beyond using power-ups. You’ll spend hours scratching your head attempting to uncover the solution. Finished? Don’t worry, there are 240 plus puzzles to go.

5 Simple Tips To Improve Your Candy Crush Game

Here are 5 simple tips which I use to quickly crush through candies.

1) Make use of the power of candies combo
Resist the urge to unleash the power candy as and when you have one. Wait for more to appear as swapping power candies with each other will release different kind of effects, you have to try to mix and match as you play along to find out which power candy will unleash which effect when swapped with another power candy. I particularly like swapping the rainbow sprinkle with any power candy, especially rainbow sprinkle + pink crusted doughnuts combination. Of course, rainbow sprinkle + rainbow sprinkle helps to clear every candy on the board (but not jellies which requires two blasts to clear)

Some other good combinations to bear in mind when you have the chance to unleash:

  • Pink doughnuts + jelly fishes
  • Striped candy + wrapped candy

2) Clear chocolate squares
Chocolate squares will regenerate if you do not clear them and they can be a stumbling block if they are allowed to multiply and grow. If you are able to clear the board of all chocolate squares, they will not reappear anymore, allowing you to plan your moves in peace. However, in certain levels as you advance further, chocolate squares will regenerate no matter what, hence you still need to clear them promptly to fill your boards with as many candies as possible – more candies means more permutations to swap your candies.
3) Always Clear time bombs
Don’t wait. Clear them once you have the chance. If not, you will waste your effort if one of them explode as it means the end of the game.
4) Study the board and plan your moves
Most of the stages are limited moves based instead of time based. Hence you have all the time in the world to consider your moves. Play them carefully.

When playing levels which requires you to cascade the cherries and hazelnuts, you need to study where are the exit points at the bottom of the board and how the cascade flows so that you do not waste moves matching candies which will not bring your cherries and hazelnuts nearer to the exit at all!

5) Use striped candies to clear out of reach tiles
Some levels require you to clear the jelly from out of reach tiles. Play your striped candies carefully, dropping them to the horizontal or vertical level in line with these out of reach places, then match them. In some instances, this could be the only way to clear these tiles, i.e. using power combos or moves.

Some of these tips might sound basic, but we often forget the fundamentals, especially in higher levels. Happy gaming!

Candy Crush Tips As Recommended By

Here are some tips recommended by the game developers of Candy Crush Sage. While they might seem basic, it is always good to have a good grasp of the fundamentals.

Tips From

-Matching five candies in a row create a Color Bomb. Combining a Color Bomb with any a candy of any color will clear all the candies of that color.

-Sugar Crush: At the end of a level, if you still have Moves remaining or if there are any Special Candies remaining then there is a sequence where you get bonus score since you performed so well.

-In Candy Land, players have five lives to start with. When failing a level, a player loses a life, but the life is replenished (for free) after 30 minutes.

-Sometimes you need to reconnect to Facebook again to get your Facebook messages. You can do this in the main menu by tapping the Connect icon.

-You can play the full game without ever connecting to Facebook. You can even play Candy Crush Saga without an internet connection.

-Charms are permanent. This means that once you buy a charm it is yours to keep forever. This also means that the may cost slightly more than other items in the game that you consume and buy over and over again.

- Some Charms, like the Charm of Frozen Time, can be toggled on and off from the screen that appears when tapping a button on the map, right next to the Boosters. Other Charms, like the Charm of Stripes, is used inside the level during gameplay, and is accessed by tapping the corresponding button in the top left corner of the screen. The Charm of Life is always active.

-Boosters come with a number of charges. Once you use the Booster, one charge is consumed. Boosters are much cheaper than most Charms and can be quite helpful if you find yourself in a pickle or if you are stuck on a particularly tricky level.
